Gifts Ideas for the Resorter
Let’s face it! Once holidays have passed we are well on our way to resort wear!
It’s super fun to gift resort ideas and travel goodies for the staycation or hop on a jet plane & beach it this January.
Resort Essentials that most likely by years end must need to be refreshed in your resort bag is Sunscreen! Not just for your face but your lips too!
Next up for me is HAIR! I have naturally curly hair and for some reason swimming in saltwater it becomes the curly beach wavy surfer girl look (which I LOVE btw) but I also still want my hair protected and feeling clean, the Natulique hair refreshing mist is a must in my travel bag.
The clear plastic flexible hair tie above is essential. You can take it and make a messy top knot bun for super humid days or a high pony! When my hair is down I almost always have one worn on my wrist like a bracelet. They are so stretchy and light weight you don’t even feel it’s there.
During your day to day life a lot of us have a signature scent. It’s really challenging traveling with a fancy glass bottle of your perfume. I ditched the glass bottles a long way back and I’m a huge fan of the roller ball! Herectic out of Los Angeles has some of my favorite scents packaged in a roller ball style along with Monyette Paris and Kai Naturals.
Jewelry this is a good one! Okay! Here’s the deal! Unless Harry Winston has loaned you a million or more dollars in jewels & you are in Europe in a Monte Carlo casino or Cannes at the film festival you don’t need to travel with crazy amounts of jewelry. Leave that to the celebs. The whole point of a vacay is relaxation and respite. Traveling with highly valued jewels leaves you vulnerable to theft. I have a pair of staple little tiny gold diamond hoops from @ dejohnge jewelers and a perfect little dainty necklace that I never take off! I swim, shower, workout in them (against the advice of dejohnge jewelers). The best part is, if I lose something I can go back and they can replace it with no guilt. I’m all about wearing stuff meant to be used all day, every day! Styled with the right hair and minimal make up you’ll look polished and simple for an elegant vacay statement.
Wardrobe vibes swim suits and dresses! I love a good dress. So easy while away because you don’t have to pair & coordinate tops & bottoms etc. For day a dress can be casual with some cute flops and turn it up a notch in evening with some summer wedges! Get a dress you can move in! Nothing’s worse than a beach vacay and you are sweating in a tight dress. Save it for another day, event and place. Pictured below are some of my favorites from Tucknernuck! Machine washable, which make it great for vacations.
Tuckernuck Dresses
The right swimsuit is EVERYTHING!
BUY them all! In multiple sizes and TRY them all on at HOME! In the RIGHT lighting. DO NOT try on in a retail store! You will run out screaming! No retail store has yet to master flattering lighting and mirrors, so let’s not even go there! Get a good sun hat! Mine is light floppy, can easily fold up and say’s “wish you were here”
I’ve got a pair of Sunnies with the aviator style frame from Quay and a more sporty style from GoodR! Super fashionable! A polarized lens from GoodR and a great price point if you are prone to losing expensive eye wear!
I hope wherever you land during this coming resort season, whether it’s a staycation or away you enjoy it with good health and wear your sunscreen! There’s nothing cool or healthy about a sunburn.
