Jet Setting Pandemic Style
Looking to travel during the pandemic
and wanting to do it safely means you are facing some serious planning and upping the ante on spending. Get ready to spend generously, but be prepared to have the trip of a lifetime.
I’m a firm believer of ease, convenience and luxury no matter the duration, and location. Quality of experience is HUGE!
Travel obviously does not look the same as it did pre-pandemic. While traveling within the United States you may or may not be asked for a covid test or vaccine status, you certainly will be asked outside USA.
Make sure you check what the requirements are that will be asked of you upon arrival to your destination. Plan accordingly with time. A twelve day vacation make look like 21 days if you are required to quarantine upon arrival to your destination and upon return home.
Prepare ahead with appropriate vaccinations for your destination. Heading to Africa on safari you’ll be asked for proof of malaria and yellow fever vaccine.
Pack light and efficiently!
If you’ve already done the home edit for your closet or the Marie Kondo take what you’ve learned and apply it to your travel bag.
When traveling to beach destinations I literally can fit everything in a carry on!
Swimwear, clothing is neutral, and dresses that can roll up easily and effortlessly. I allow for one pair of workout sneakers and then a pair of wedge espadrilles that can be paired for day or evening. I once spent 12 weeks sailing down and up the coast of Belize and did it with a carry on bag. I did it with several swimsuits, one pair of pants and a pashmina and plenty of white tees.
Obviously, it’s a lot easier to pack in a more compact manner while jet setting off to a beach vacation.
If you are snow bound I’m a huge fan of shipping gear in advance. I really don’t like to be responsible for anything other than my purse these days while boarding.
